Leadoff Studio led the industrial design of the Mirror Smart Weights product line consisting of nine sets of Dumbbells and two sets of Ankle Weights. The connected tech product is designed to enhance the home workout experience for Mirror users.
The project called for Leadoff Studio to expand Mirror’s product line, beyond their flagship fitness mirror. The exercise devices stay true to the Mirror brand by enhancing the space it occupies at all times, whether in-use or on display. The clean minimalist product design has a matte metal finish, subtle use of texture, and neutral color palette that create an elegant and low profile exercise product.
Ergonomic fitness product design
The Mirror Smart Weights feature an ergonomic, diamond-cut textured handle and a square weight plate, perfect for support and stability during floor routines. A high-quality rubber edge runs along each weight to increase product durability and protect flooring.
Connected device features
The Smart Weights connect to the Mirror and integrate effortlessly into the existing workout system. The connected exercise equipment provides real time rep-tracking, weight suggestions, and form correction for a more effective strength workout. When the dumbbells are in motion, the LED illuminates to let the user know they’ve connected. When not in use, the LED turns off, leaving a matte white number that helps the product add to a tranquil home environment.
An extension of the product line
The result is connected strength equipment that feels like a natural extension of Mirror—not an accessory added after the fact.
Mirror Smart Weights bring intelligence and guidance into strength training while preserving the visual clarity of the brand and the home around it. They are active when the workout demands it, quiet when it does not, and designed around Leadoff’s belief that the best products do more than fit into a routine. They fit into real life.
