Eco-Friendly Mobility Device That Can Cure Plantar Fasciitis
Client: CastleFlexx
Year: 2021
Our Role: Industrial Design, Sustainability Consulting, Product Development & Production
CastleFlexx is a stretching and strength tool designed to help athletes, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone with chronic pain improve their flexibility, core strength and mobility. The product design is a universal tool anyone can use that maintains a level of quality fit for professional athletes. The Atlanta Braves used CastleFlexx in their 2021 World Series championship season to increase speed and mobility.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS DESIGN
CastleFlexx is made using only three materials, all completely innovative in the workout space:
Infinitely recyclable aluminum
Natural biodegradable cork
RPET fabric made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
Each material was chosen for its balance of performance, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal. The device uses no virgin plastic in its entire construction.
BIOMECHANIC DESIGN
CastleFlexx targets the entire posterior chain of the lower limb by stretching the soft tissues of your toes, foot, calf and hamstrings. It creates a fascial and nerve tissue release that improves lower back pain issues and herniated discs, and can even cure plantar fasciitis.
The industrial design of CastleFlexx was driven around the desire to make “prehab” easy and accessible, helping people prevent injuries before they happen.
